The first toy line for the film Jurassic Park was released in 1993 and consisted of figures and dinosaurs modelled mostly after the book. Later in 1994 a second series was released with updated sculps for the people and special 'capture gear' for some of the dinosaurs, however Series 2 came out at the tail end of its popularity and was thus much, much rarer. These days some of the rarest figures in the franchise come from 'JPS2', and while I have most of the figures from the first movie, I'm still hunting down certain ones. Think you might have them? Check my Wantlist and see!

Dinosaurs: Dinos up first! Some of these are from series 2, which are much rarer than the original ones.

People: Next is the people.

Vehicles: I'm not a big vehicle collector so what I have I mostly got in lots, but I still have some good ones nonetheless!

Dinosaurs

Probably the most common dinosaur from this range.

Coelophysis - JP.04

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

"Sprinters". Bendable (and very fragile!). I preferred to display these as a swarm so I never got rid of the spares that accumulated. One of the few sculpts that was never reissued.

Alternate Views:
Pteranodon - JP.05

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:

Has a battle-damage wound.

Alternate Views:
Stegosaurus - JP.07

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Battle-damage wound. (Possibly also the ugliest stegosaurus toy ever made haha!)

Alternate Views:
Triceratops - JP.08

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Battle damade wound. Also tosses its head if you squeeze it.
Tyrannosaurus Rex - JP.09

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Electronic. Roars if you squeeze it and makes stomping noises if you stomp it. A little known fact about them is that they also move their jaws; unfortunately the mechanism was very fragile (like the rest of the entire sculpt) and most 'Red Rex' are broken now. I've owned three, seen more, and only one that has passed through my hands had a working mechanism.

Alternate Views:
Electronic Dilophosaurus - JP.10

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Pull down on its arm and it opens its mouth and screeches. Comes with a detatchable frill

Alternate Views:

Squeeze its legs and it screeches and slashes its claws.

Alternate Views:
Tanystropheus - JP.13

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Restraint gear

"Cobra". Bendable. Came with pieces of restraint gear. A glorious example of 'That Dinosaur SO did not look like that in Real Life'.
Pachycephalosaurus - JP.14

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

"Ram Head". Push the button on its thigh and it will snap down its head.

Alternate Views:
Quetzalcoatlus - JP.18

Series: 2
Year: 1994

Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Restraint gear

"Firebeak". Opens beak, has grabby claws and flaps wings when you push a button on its back. Very rare and hard to find complete.

Alternate Views:
Carnotaurus - JP.19

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

"Demon". Dino-damage wound. Very rare and hard to find complete; I have mine by the graces of my good luck (and someone's bad spelling).

Alternate Views:
Utahraptor - JP.22

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

"Ripper". Electronic. Push on its back and it screeches and snaps its legs forward. Very rare and hard to find complete; I got mine from the same lot as my Carnotaurus.

Alternate Views:
Gallimimus - JP.24

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

"Speeder". Electronic. Very, very rare, expensive and hard to find complete (even though complete is merely a leg-band and a collectable card. Same lot as the other two 'chase' figures I have complete and probably my single-most luckiest find yet, considering this figure tends to hit over $100 MIP on eBay these days. All of which never fails to baffle me because this is one ugly figure (but at the same time I suppose that accounts for its unpopularity when it was released leading to its higher rarity today).

Humans
Alan Grant

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with Pteranodon hatchling. MIP! Doesn't get much more complete than that, folks.

Alternate Views:
Ellie Sattler

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with Triceratops hatchling.

Alternate Views:
Tim Murphy

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Night vision goggles.

Comes with Brachiosaurus hatchling. When JP first came out the first figure I had was Tim, which I subsequently lost and mourned over for years. Then eBay magically appeared and I found a new figure to transplant my wayward nostalgia onto.

Alternate Views:
Robert Muldoon

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with Tyrannosaurus hatchling. MIP & complete loose. Amusingly enough, Muldoon is the only figure in this set that actually has a 'realistic' weapon; these original figures were made after the book as opposed to the movie, and Muldoon had the good fortune to be in possession of a launcher in said book. So there you go!

Alternate Views:
Dennis Nedry

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

MIP. Comes with Dilophosurus hatchling.

Alternate Views:
Alan Grant (with Net Trap)

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Several.

Comes with Stegosaurus hatchling. Grant got some serious love across the original JP line, with a whole three figures just for his heroic self. This is the only one of the three I've yet to complete; at the moment I only have the figure on its lonesome.
Alan Grant (with BOLA)

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

These series 2 sculpts were of much better quality than series 1, if not necessarily of more realistic application. This incarnation of the Hat Man comes with a huge multi-purpose bola and animal training gear to help him cope with the Lycaenops pup that comes with him.
Ellie Sattler

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Ankylosaurus hacthling

Comes with Ankylosaurus hatchling. As you can probably see if you compare the S2 Sattler with the S1 version, the S2 sculpts were made to suit their movie counterparts more than the originals. Apart from updated colours and a different hatchling (Ankylosaurus), Ellie otherwise isn't much different this time around.
Tim Murphy

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with Parasaurolophus hatchling.
Ian Malcom

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with Gallimimus hatchling. In my humble opinion, I do think Malcom got the best sculpt in the entire JP1 line. It looks remarkably like his film counterpart (Goldblum), even if the figure does still come with an obnoxiously gigantic firearm. Only trouble is he doesn't stand well.

Alternate Views:
Robert Muldoon

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Most appropriately comes with a Velociraptor hatchling.
SGT "T-Rex" Turner

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Comes with a Triceratops hatchling. With JPS2 came the 'Dino Trackers', who could probably be best described as skilled Park workers and Dino-handlers.

Alternate Views:
"Harpoon" Harrison

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Harrison comes with copious large weaponry and a Brachiosaurus hatchling.
"Jaws" Jackson

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Jackson was headless when I got him so though he's been repaired, his head can no longer turn. He comes with a trap and a Dilophosaurus hatchling.
Skinner

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Skinner figure

Alongside the 'Dino Trackers' came the 'Dino Hunters'; poachers who, well, pose as the villains our intrepid Tracker heroes must protect the defenseless dinos from. All I have of Skinner is his trunk and Baryonyx hatchling.
Dr. Snare

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

Apparently Snare is quite rare for this line. Snare gives the impression of being the villainous mastermind, no? He comes with, well, snares, and a Carnotaurus hatchling.

Vehicles
Jungle Explorer

Series: 1
Year: 1993

What Jurassic Park set is complete without one of the ill-fated Explorers to destroy? This set was completed by an amalgamation of various lots.

Alternate Views:
Bush Devil Tracker

Series: 1
Year: 1993
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: None

The second of what I like to call the two 'classic' JP vehicles; the Jeep and the Explorer from the first film.

Alternate Views:
Jungle Runner

Series: 2
Year: 1994
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of production
Size:
Pieces Missing: Grappling Hook missile

A small quad-bike for the Dino Trackers team.

Alternate Views:
Capture Cruiser

Series: 2
Year: 1994

Sadly mine came damaged on one of the prongs, but this was still a nice lucky addition to my set.
