This is where all the other bits and pieces that aren't part of a collection in and of itself go! Which is something of a shame that these should be technically the 'dregs', since the BEST STUFF is here hahaha!

Think you might have something I need? Check my Wantlist and see!

Special: Things without their own category that I still have a special place for in my collection. These tend to be things that are either very valuable one-offs. The pride of my entire collection is my Hot Toys Movie Masterpieces 'At World's End' Jack Sparrow, for instance.

Figures: Other figures go here.

Plush

Other: The last few bits and pieces I consider collectable but don't fit into any category so far listed. These are, quite literally, the wayward dregs' of my collection.

Special

Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series 1/6 Scale Figure: Captain Jack Sparrow

Year: 2007
Origin: Singapore
Availability: Out of Production. Very Rare
Pieces Missing: None (remarkably)

'At World's End' version. The crowning jewel of my collection thus far is also the most expensive individual figure I've ever bought, and easily the most intricate and impressive. Everything is removeable; everything is painstakingly detailed. The jacket and the pants even have their own pockets, the belt buckles are functional, the compass has a working latch and opens and the jacket has thin wire inlaid into its hems to allow it to be posed. Jack is articulated to an almost natural (or rather, unnatural) degree, with his only shortcomings being his boots (which are moulded) and his right hand, impeded by his bracelets.
I hope to, at some time in the future, get the other version of this figure; the Cannibal King Jack Sparrow from 'Dead Man's Chest', or at the very least, the alt head from said figure. Conversely, if a new figure is released for the fourth film with a unique head sculpt or something that differentiates it from this one, I'll buy that instead.

Ezio Auditore da Firenze Figure & Assassin's Creed Black Edition Boxset

Year: 2009
Origin: Australia
Availability: Exclusive Limited Edition. Out of Production; Rare.
Pieces Missing: None

I lucked out pretty hard on this one. These were very limited and feature an edition ID number on a foil sticker inside the box's flap. This is the Australian version.

The Black Edition figure is unique to the European/Australian release of the game (The USA Master Assassin Edition featured the same figure as the Euro/Aus White Edition) and currently sells in the aftermarket for almost as much on its own as the full set was worth. The set also included an exclusive code for three special missions; a leatherbound artbook book; a DVD featuring the full soundtrack by Jesper Kyd along with some video extras; all besides the game itself.

I'm really in love with this game. The artbook is fantastic, the soundtrack is great and the figure is superb. Though if I was to level any crtisism against it it would be that it's a shame they didn't bother finishing the sleeves to completely match the armour set that Ezio is supposed to be wearing in this figure (Altaïr's Master Assassin armour), I was a little disappointed that the DVD didn't have the Lineage short film series that acted as a lead-up to the game, and the artbook would be easier to appreciate if it was bigger.

Revoltech Yamaguchi Series: Professor Layton

Year: 2010
Origin: Japan
Availability: .
Pieces Missing: None

This little setup from Revoltech has everything you could ever need. Layton comes with his pen and trusty notebook, as well as a cup of tea with saucer (one moulded together and one split, so Layton can offer you a cup or have one himself!) and a very nice table+chair setup and a brick street base. For the surprisingly cheap price (1600 yen) I was really amazed at the quality and contents of the package. There's just so many ways to pose this figure with so many different options, it's almost too much choice! ...Almost.

Figures
'Rumble-n-Roar' Godzilla (Zilla)

Year: 1998
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production. Very rare.
Pieces Missing: None

Rare white-breasted variant. I've been in the market for a nice, large Godzilla (Zilla) figure from the '98 movie for quite some time now, but I hadn't settled on one I liked. I would still like one of the RC ones (baby or adult) but this is a very neat figure in itself. It's very large, as big as my JP Tyrannosaurs, and made of a similar rubber latex material. He's billed as being animatronic, but really, only his head/mouth moves when he roars (and he vibrates wildly).

The white-breasted variant is the rarer of the two styles that this toy comes in; the other is a metallic blue like his spines. From my understanding of the differences, the blue version is slightly smaller but has better internal mechanics.

There are a couple of drawbacks to him being made of latex though, even though he looks fantastic, especially in amongst my rexes. The first is that the paint rubs very easily. I've seen numerous specimens where the paint is severely degraded. There is also the fact that the latex used on the toy seems really prone to cracking, and a lot of them (including mine but to a thankfully minute degree) have cracked and damaged tails. And the latex paint used for this guy is sticky. It attracts dust like you just would not believe. When I received this one, it took me an entire day of painstaking cleaning to get him to the point where he was presentable. I couldn't properly wash him because he's electronic, and because the dust had stuck solidly to his skin, it wouldn't brush or blow off. He still has quite a bit of dust on him in the grooves that I'm still working on, too.

Ultimately though he's a fantastic figure, and I think I got him for a more than reasonable price all things considered.

PatchTogether The Phoenix Requiem 10" Figure: Jonas Faulkner

The eccentric gentleman Jonas Faulkner (my favourite character!) from The Phoenix Requiem. It is signed by the artist.

.
Hasbro Revenge of the Sith Deluxe Figure: Boga (with Obi-Wan)

Year: 2005
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production. Rare.
Pieces Missing: None

I only removed Boga from her box; Obi-Wan is still packaged and the box stored so he's absent from the photos. I'm not what you would call a Star Wars fan, but I am a creature fan and I loved Boga. Though this is the only Star Wars figure I myself own, my brother has a huge collection of his own. No Boga though hahah.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory 6" Figure: Willy Wonka

Year:

MIP. I only ever saw the one on shelves when they came out, and I rarely saw them in general anyway. This one is on an error card (Mike Teevee insert as opposed to Wonka).
Yu-Gi-Oh Deluxe Electronic Figure: Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon

Year:
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: None

I don't actually like Yugioh, but I liked this dragon.
Trendmasters Electronic Godzilla Figure

Year: 1999
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: None

Inherited from a family member. Electronic Zilla from the US movie Godzilla.

Listing this figure reminds me of one that was released which I never saw in person, only in an ad for a contest that I didn't win (1998 Australian Disney Adventures Magazine art contest). It was gigantic, whitish-grey and from the image, appeared to shoot clear blue projectiles from its mouth besides also being electronic. I'd love to even so much as see a good, clear picture of this Zilla, if anyone happens to have one.
Considering it was almost ten years ago when I saw the article, I am leaning towards believing that this figure might actually have been the massive Ultimate Godzilla figure Trendmasters released. I'm interested in one (or the smaller Supreme Godzilla) if anyone has one they would like to sell.
Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe 3-Figure Pack: Fawn & Phoenix

Year: ????
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: None

A gift. Part of the downfall with the first Narnia toyline was the lack of decent figures at a rational price. It was also partially the downfall of the series for the second film, but they did have some better variety of characters at least. The Phoenix here only marginally resembles an actual bird and all three figures look kind of tacky and cheap (which for what they were, they certainly weren't!).
Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron: Eagle

Old, old old old old. I used to have a set of these when I was teeny; one of these days I want to grab another Sharptooth one.
Battle-Cat!

Year: 1982
Origin: USA
Availability: LONG Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: Everything

The most tongue-in-cheek thing I own. I deliberately went out of my way to get this (for a dollar!), not because I like Battle-Cat, but for the principle of it. When I was younger, everyone that I knew had 'that green He-Man tiger'. Hardly anyone even knew what in the world the 'green He-Man tiger' was called, or why it was green, or what it actually had to do with He-Man in the first place, but everyone had one anyway, which was kind of amusing, since the Battle-Cat figure in question came out three years before my own birth (we fished a lot of toys out of second-hand bins and markets, back when such things yielded handfuls of awesome -- i.e., before eBay spoiled it). My own 'green He-Man tiger' was lost to time, so I decided to get another!

And in the true humour of nostalgia, I randomly fished it out of a second-hand bin.

Plush
Hannari Tofu: Hungry Sparrow

Year: 2008/2009
Origin: Japan
Availability: Unknown
Pieces Missing: None

The smaller version of the UFO catcher plush distributed by Hannari Tofu of the character Hungry Sparrow. I developed a minor obsession with Hungry Sparrow after seeing the jumbo versions in a Japanese UFO catcher in Sydney and failing miserably to extract one. I kind of regret not buying the big Sparrow when I saw these for sale online, since now I can't find it anywhere.

Aurora Plush: Keel-Billed Toucan

Fiesta Plush: Keel-Billed Toucan

A little bigger than the Aurora plush, but not quite as soft -- still a very gorgeous plush :D
World Wildlife Fund Plush: Red Fox

Year: ????
Origin: USA
Availability: Unknown.
Pieces Missing: None

Incredibly soft, beautiful fox released by the WWF. It's very hard to find plush of this animal here in Australia due to its status as a feral pest species (though they are slowly becoming more common -- I guess retailers finally cottoned on to the fact that they're still a popular animal nonetheless).
HANSA Plush: Red Panda

Bought this one year at Taronga Zoo. Very nice plush.
Look At Me Only Plush: Red Panda

Dragonology Deluxe Poseable Plush: Chinese Lung

Year:
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: None

Most of the Dragonology merchandise is hideous by the standards myself and many of my peers hold our dragons to, but if there's one thing we can agree on, it's that they somehow managed to strike exactly the right chord with the plush Lung: it is quite gorgeous, despite the fact that I'm not a massive fan of lungs in their most popular depictions, and I certainly won't be letting go of it anytime soon. It's a pity their other plush and figures weren't quite so nice.
Neopets Keyquest Plush: Striped Xweetok

Year: 2009

This is the smaller version of another naughty little sheep I spotted in a Japanese UFO catcher. It is incredibly soft and adorable, and... it strips! Give the little sheep a jerk from the horns and the 'wool' comes right off, revealing one naked little sheep!

Do not ask. I do not know. I never even realised there was such a thing (and it's quite a grotesque little plush as it is)! This little creature was a stowaway that accompanied my Jurassic Park Dakin Dilophosaurus when I bought it.
Believe it or not (I sure didn't at first), but it is officially branded! I am almost curious as to whether or not there were others.
Playgro Disney Plush: Thumper

Year: ????

I really wished there was a plush of Flower, but Thumper was my second-most preferred from what they had when I was asked what I liked :] And it is a very nice plush indeed! Very high quality.
Eden Toys: Squirrel

Year: Late 80's
Origin: USA
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: Hessian sack of nuts

Squirrel probably seems rather generic, but I've included this here because it has personal value surpassing most of what has already appeared on this site. It's one of 'those toys'. The childhood toy with so many memories attached to it that you can't bring yourself to discard it.
The Spotted Cat of Unknown Origin Heretoafter Referred to as 'Bobby'

Year: Very early 90's
Origin: ????
Availability: Out of Production.
Pieces Missing: None

Another one of 'those toys' and perhaps moreso than Squirrel. 'Bobby' began life as a childhood gift given new life. She was one of a pair (the other in her line was a tiger that I never had but clearly remember having seen for sale) and over the years had more and more adornments added to her. Starting out as a plain spotted cat, slowly and surely she became the toy she is now: covered in dress-up, holes torn open and then shoddily sewn back up again, fur matted and worn and her spots faded till they can barely be seen.

Sadly her fur is not the only thing worn out and her tag is now illegible. If anyone can identify Bobby, has a picture of the Tiger, or better still, knows where I might be able to get one, please do contact me. I really, really want to find one.
